Terre di Confine is an adventure that began in 2020 by Giulia Marangon, a very talented oenologist and winemaker, who already has to her credit years of winemaking with Stefano Amerighi in Cortona - Toscana, and then later with Il Torchio in Liguria, where she currently rents space to make her wines.

Assisted by her partner Rachele, Giulia manages 2 vineyards in the province of Massa Carrara: very old vineyards in Monteverde and Montegreco, folded tightly between the visible Apuan Alps and Tyrrhenian Sea.

The vineyards of are 40 to 80 years old and arranged traditionally in terraces on seaward-facing slopes, where mechanization is impossible.

Soil types vary from calcareous-clayey areas to clay-siliceous shale, with flysch also present. In these adopted vineyards, they are tending to Vermentino, Albarola, yellow Moscato, pink Trebbiano, Malvasia, black Vermentino, Syrah, Sangiovese, Bonamico, Barbarossa.

Terre di Confine translates to 'Land of the confines" and has two meanings for them: to represent the meeting of the project’s creator souls (one from Liguria and one from Tuscany), also the vineyards are “on the border” between the Liguria and Toscana.
